ZIKI the musician, performer & songwriter started out performing poetry in her formative years in high school. After school, she moved on to dance and musical theatre before deciding to pursue a solo music career. Her first single ‘Nenda’ was well received but it’s the follow up ‘Fly away’ that has received rave reviews, with fans of her music eagerly anticipating her debut album, due for release in 2013. Ziki has steadily cut a niche for herself as a versatile performer with a diverse repertoire.
She performs with a five piece band known as ‘SABA’ which comprises of a guitarist, bassist, drummer, keyboardist ,percussionist and background vocalist. She represents a dynamic crop of artistes in Kenya’s vibrant music scene. Hers is a soulful sound; an energetic performance with a stage presence reminiscent of jazz and African artistes that have influenced her over the years.
Her instrument of choice is her voice and the rhythm guitar. Her creative process as both experiential and introspective.

18 months Plan
Ziki plans on releasing an album every two years and also tour the world promoting her music while, sharing her musical journey. The Madison Square garden, The Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, are some of the venues she aims to perform in as well as in the Olympics 2016 and major festivals in Africa & all over the world.
Ziki, a mother of one, hopes to inspire generations to come by creating work that has substance and longevity. Her other interests include: poetry, acting, voice over work & producing content for TV.
