I did my O levels at Homa Bay High school before joining University of Dar-ES Salaam to study bachelor of Education English/Literature. I taught in several secondary schools in Nyanza region including St Joseph’s Rapogi,St Albert Ulanda Girls, Piny Owach mixed and Nyamira Girls. I am a trained KCSE examiner by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development.I am running a consultancy firm that focuses on Literature education in secondary schools and teacher training colleges.
I have also trained in Behavioral Economics from the University of Toronto and Social Epidemiology from Harvard University. I work as a Behavior Change Communication officer with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Kenya and Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI). I have trained over 50,000 parents with children aged 9-12 in Nairobi on sex and sexuality education and how to help their children delay sexual debut and peer pressure negotiation skills to avoid early pregnancy, drug abuse and HIV/AIDS.
I was in Drama Club in Homa Bay High school and also joined the travelling theatre at the University of Dar es Salaam. In 2007 I joined hands with 15 other young people from Kisumu to form Legacy Arts Production. I am the head of drama with the Lake Victoria Festival of Arts (LAFESTA). In 2012 Legacy Arts Production partnered with Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF), International Labor Foundation ILO) to train 275 talented young people from Migori and Kisumu County. As the leader of the group I have guided the transformation of talented young people from the slums and slums.
As the executive producer of Legacy Arts Production we have produced the film version of the following set books; Utengano,The River and the Source and Kilio Cha Haki. Legacy Arts Production has trained talented young people from the slums of Kariobangi, Huruma, Korogocho, Githurai and Soweto and the groups are currently performing in schools in Mombasa, Nyanza, Nairobi, Eastern and Rift Valley.
