Kepha Charles is a renowned musician, a Visionary, Band Leader and Lead Vocalist at TuneDem Band. He has also many years of experience in playing musical instruments such as the Keyboard, Drums, AcousticGuitar and has waxed greatly in skill and knowledge in these areas. Kepha Charles holds a Certificate in 3D Animation, which also covered Music Production, from Shang Tao College based in Nairobi, Kenya. He has also attended a Jazz course training at Trinit Music School.
TuneDem Band started with a dream, now a reality, back in year 2005 at the heart of Kibera slums. Having had the inclination to perform gospel reggae music, Kepha Charles effortlessly formed a band with some of his long-time friends and musicians who took up the vision as their own.
To gain ground, build a name, and garner experience, Tunedem Band began by performing at various concerts including their own, in churches/ministries/outreaches, and at events such as youth camps, weddings, etc.
They proceeded to record their first album, “Foundation”, in the year 2011 and launched immediately after in a very successful launch at CITAM Woodley, by then it was NPC Woodley. It was right after this launch that the band got opportunities to minister with missionaries from the USA known as BlackHawk Ministries, on several occasions.
Since then, TuneDem Band have hosted and performed with internationally renowned gospel reggae group based in the USA known as Christafari Band in the year 2015. They have recorded six more albums including a song known as “Give”, a collaboration withinternationally renowned gospel reggae artist, Wayne Stoddart a signed artist at Bad Lions Production and Studiomanaged by Aston BarretJr (the current drummer of the Wailers-Bob Marley). This hit single was released in August 2016. Tunedem Band is currently working on their seventh (7) album. Their albums can be found on “Reverbnation”, “I-Tunes”, “Tubidy”, “Amazon”, “SoundCloud”, “YouTube”, “Mdundo”, “Waabeh” “GospelReggae.com” and “A Kenyan Voice”, amongst other online platforms.
The band have been hosted on various local and international TV platforms such as “AM Live”, “The Trend”, “Power Breakfast Show”, “Morning Express”, “Jamrock”, “Ire Reggae Show”, “Hope FM”, “KBC”, “C 1 Radio-USA”, amongst others.
Moreover, TuneDem Band has been on a church tour since April 2016, and have twice travelled to Uganda to participate in the NyegeNyege International Festival which is an annual event. They have also played at the Utam Festival which is also an annual event.
In December 2016, TuneDem Band shall perform at the Jamhuri Reggae Festival that shall host International Reggae Icons such as “Capleton” AKA “King Shango” and “Queen Ifrica” AKA “Fyah Mama”.
